Jiu Jitsu at Premier MMA

I’m pleased to say that as well Korean Thai Kickboxing (in which I’m now an advanced orange belt, woo hoo!), I have also taken up Jiu-Jitsu. One of the main reasons I’ve stuck at martial arts so long this time around, is the respectful attitude of the instructors.

Whilst sparring at jiu-jitsu today, I got paired up with a dude. Mr S told all the men that when sparring with women, they should be treated as opponents. This was immensely motivating for me, because even though I got TAKEN, I had a clearer idea of what my weaknesses were so that I can work on them, instead of facing the imagined default weakness of being a woman.

Nice work Premier.
